1. Designated contact
Copyright notices should be sent to the site operator at hello@famousbirthdaystoday.net with the subject "DMCA Notice".
2. What a valid notice must include
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) on this site where the material appears.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
3. How we respond
Valid notices are actioned promptly. Depending on the claim, we will remove the image, replace it with a placeholder, or remove the entry entirely. We aim to act within seven business days and will confirm the action taken.
4. Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the address above including your contact details, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to jurisdiction.
5. Repeat infringement
Where a person or source is the subject of repeated valid notices, we will stop using material from that source.
6. Image policy
Portraits on this site are duotone derivatives used solely to identify the subject of an encyclopedic entry. They are not offered for download or reuse. Transforming an image does not change its ownership, so we remove images on request even where the use would otherwise be arguable.
7. Abuse
Knowingly false notices may carry legal consequences. If you are unsure whether you hold the rights, contact us informally first and we will usually resolve it without a formal notice.
